Why do Americans say Muslims are trying to impose Sharia Law when there are Christians trying to?

I'm not saying Muslims are trying to impose Sharia Law, but the difference would be that you can ignore that woman, but you wouldn't be allowed to ignore the Sharia Law without punishment.
