Will Sasuke ever become a good guy again?

I haven't watched Naruto in a while so I am not really sure where the series stands, but I did want to know if Sasuke ever returns to the Leaf Village and become good. If he has not yet is the series hinting that he might? This story arc just really bothered me because I liked Sasuke as a character and would hate to see his die or stay evil or whatever.
